Midfielder Kevin Higgins has emerged as a major doubt ahead of Roscommon's Division 2 campaign.
Manager John Evans confirmed to The Irish Independent that Higgins is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a knee cartilage problem.
The injury update on ace forward Donie Shine - who has his knee cleaned out during the off season - makes better reading for Rossie supporters.
"There's no worries about Donie," Evans revealed.
"He's already back training but we are looking for a second opinion on Kevin. It's not a cruciate or ligament situation thankfully but he's had wear and tear problems that we're trying to get to the bottom of."
