Paul Devlin knows he has a lot of work to do if he's to become a Down regular.
The versatile Kilcoo clubman has impressed in the Mourne County's opening two McKenna Cup games and will be handed another chance to impress by manager Jim McCorry against UUJ on Wednesday night. But the 22-year-old accepts that it's a long road from January to championship time:
"Obviously I am very happy to be getting game time at the moment but competition for places will undoubtedly be stepped up," he is quoted in The Belfast Telegraph.
"This match against UUJ is important in that there is still the chance that we could maybe make it into the semi-finals. It was good to get the win over Monaghan under our belts after that slip-up against Cavan."
