Peter Clarke has been appointed manager of the Monaghan ladies football team.

Clarke has an impressive track record in ladies football, having led DCU to three O'Connor Cups. He was involved with UCD this year and has managed both Dublin and Mayo. He will be familiar to many of the Monaghan players, having served as a selector to former manager Gregory McGonigle in 2011.

Joining Clarke's management team will be former Dublin star Angie McNally and Pat Ring, who managed Foxrock-Cabinteely to a Dublin senior final appearance this year.

Pipped at the post by Cork in the 2013 All-Ireland final, the Farney ladies were surprisingly beaten by Armagh in this year's Ulster final.
