History was made in Tyrone tonight with the election of the GAA's first woman county chairperson.
As expected, Roisín Jordan was elected to the position unopposed and becomes the county's 25th chairperson, taking over from Ciarán McLaughlin, who steps down after completing his five-year term.
The Eglish club woman served five years as vice-chairperson and the tradition in the O'Neill County is that the vice-chairperson succeeds the chairperson.
