Galway star Michael Lundy says it means a lot to Corofin to win back-to-back Frank Fox Cups.

The full forward bagged a brace of goals as the red-hot favourites demolished first-time finalists St. Michael's on a 5-12 to 0-9 scoreline at Tuam Stadium to land their 16th title and their 13th in the last 24 years.

"I'm delighted as an individual to get the two goals, but also as a group it's great to win a title but especially back-to-back ones," he told RTE.

"For a lot of us it's our first back-to-back. We've struggled in the past on second years after winning the county final as we seem to have a hangover and don't seem to win it back-to-back, but I'm delighted now to win two-in-a-row."

Lundy noted how the favourites' tag was nothing new to Stephen Rochford's charges.

"It wasn't that difficult because we tried not to focus on it too much," he continued.

"All year we've been overwhelming favourites in games but that's the bookies, I think they're setting us up for a fall more than anything. We'll focus on our own game and luckily enough it worked out that we were favourites and we came out on top.

"It was great to win a medal and in a couple of weeks we'll look forward to a Connacht semi-final. We'll enjoy today and next week we'll knuckle down for a Connacht championship hopefully."
