Ballincollig 1-13
Carbery Rangers 1-10

John Kelly's second half goal proved decisive as Ballincollig came from seven points down to beat Carbery Rangers in a novel Andy Scannell Cup decider at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Appearing in their first ever final, Ballincollig looked to be suffering from stage fright as they fell 0-2 to 0-9 in arrears to their wind-assisted opponents after 20 minutes. But they suddenly awoke from their slumber and rallied brilliantly to trail by the minimum, 0-8 to 0-9, at half-time.

Carbery, who were also seeking their first title, looked to have taken control again when Seamus Hayes fisted a goal two minutes into the second half after wing back Padraig Hodnett's effort had come back off the crossbar. But Ballincollig were soon level thanks to a point from Ciaran O'Sullivan and Kelly's goal after he had been set up by George Durrant.

Substitute Sean O'Neill edged the Roscarbery men back in front again in the 43rd minute, but they weren't to score again as scores from Ian Coughlan (two), Cian Dorgan and Cian Kelly secured an historic success for the club of 2010 Cork All-Ireland winners John Miskella and Paddy Kelly.

Such an outcome had appeared improbable after the West Cork men had posted the first six points with the Hayes brothers, John and Seamus, Brian Shanahan and John O'Rourke on the mark.
