Bookies are already taking bets on what venues Garth Brooks will play next year after it was reported he is returning to Ireland.

According to the Irish Daily Star, the country music star could perform at two Irish venues next July as part of his bid to beat U2's record for the biggest ever tour. Brooks' current US tour is on course to be bigger than the Dublin band's record-breaking 360 degrees tour which took place between 2009 and 2011.

The singer pulled out of playing three nights at Croke Park this summer after Dublin City Council blocked his bid to perform over five nights, leaving 400,000 fans disappointed.

Bookmaker Boylesports have installed the Phoenix Park as 6/4 favourite to host one of the proposed concerts, with the Aviva Stadium following at 2/1.

The RDS is priced at 4/1, Kilkenny's Nowlan Park at 7/2, while Croke Park is a rank outsider at 10/1. Bizarrely, the bookies have Pairc Ui Chaoimh at 9/2, even though it will soon be levelled for major redevelopment works.

Liam Glynn of Boylesports said: "Phoenix Park is the early favourite for Garth's Dublin gig in 2015 but depending on his friends in low places, Croke Park, despite being a big price at 10/1, may well not be a non-runner just yet."

The full odds are as follows:

Phoenix Park 6/4
Aviva Stadium 2/1
Any other Irish venue 9/4
Nolan Park Kilkenny 7/2
RDS 4/1
Páirc Uí Chaoimh 9/2
3Arena 6/1
Croke Park 10/1
Marlay Park 12/1
