Henry Shefflin won't make any decision on his future in the black and amber jersey until the completion of the local senior hurling championship.

In an interview with The Irish Independent, the record-breaking All-Ireland winner insists he will think 'long and hard' about his future over the winter months.

"I knew last year, very quickly after the Cork game, that I wasn't that happy to go like that," he said in relation to his red card against the Rebel County in 2013.

"Once the club went some way right and I stayed injury free, I was going to go back.

"Do I know that this year, no I don't. I'm in a good place now, being successful, being involved and to be fit and injury free as well is a help.

"I'm in a lot better place when I do sit down to think about it over the winter. I'll have to think long and hard about it."
