McCorry plans to "triple mark" O'Hare

Down's Donal O'Hare

Jim McCorry has identified Donal O'Hare as the single biggest threat to Kilcoo's Down SFC three-in-a-row ambitions.

The Magpies will meet Burren in a repeat of last year's Frank O'Hare Cup decider at Pairc Esler on Sunday and after seeing O'Hare - who he will get to work closely with as Down manager next season - destroy Longstone with a haul of 2-6 in the semi-final, McCorry knows Burren's star forward will take a lot of watching.

"We're going to triple mark him," the Kilcoo boss joked in the Newry Democrat.

"He's a fantastic player but he's just one of a number of good Burren forwards. Most teams have a marquee forward but if we concentrate on O'Hare, we'll leave too much room for the others."

McCorry added: "We're expecting a strong physical game like the semi-final against Mayobridge. Burren are a quality side and will undoubtedly have a huge hunger going into the game. And we have had a bit of a problem with a stomach bug in the camp that hampered our preparations. We have lost six players at training (last week)."
