Declan Bonner was convinced that his Donegal minors would beat Dublin if they were within striking distance going into the closing stages.

The Ulster champions scored the last three points to win by the narrowest of margins at Croke Park and qualify for their first All-Ireland final in the grade.

"We struggled to settle in, but I knew if it came down to the wire in the last 10 minutes, and we were there or thereabouts, we'd come out on top because there is great belief in this team," the Donegal manager enthused.

"There's great self-belief in these players. That was quite evident, that they were going to get over the line, even when Dublin got that goal.

"It didn't faze them one bit. We've gone through all that could happen. Anthony McGrath has done great work with them on the sports psychology side of things."
