Ryan McHugh played down his goal-scoring heroics after Donegal's sensational victory over Dublin.

The Kilcar youngster picked up the Sky Sports Man of the Match award after his goals in the 33rd and 38th minutes inspired Jim McGuinness' men to a famous 3-13 to 0-17 win over the All-Ireland champions.

"It could have been any man. I was just lucky enough to be there and to take my chance. It's great to get them," he told Sky Sports.

"It's unbelievable so it is. I suppose it still hasn't sunk in to be honest. It's a great day - the minors won as well. It's just an unbelievable day for Donegal football."

McHugh agreed that Donegal's recent five-day training camp in the Johnstown House Hotel in Enfield had proven beneficial. He also praised Jim McGuinness and his management for plotting the downfall of a team that many felt was unbeatable.

"They come up with a great game plan every day. I can't give enough credit to them," he added.
