Offaly's Ciaran McManus

Offaly and Tubber great Ciaran McManus has announced his retirement from club football.

Midfield powerhouse McManus represented the Faithful County with distinction for 15 years between 1996 and 2011, winning a Leinster SFC medal in '97 and a national football league title the following year.

He lined out for Ireland in the International Rules series from 2001 until 2007 and was widely regarded as one of the most potent midfielders in the land.

McManus played his last game for Tubber in the county SFC against Edenderry at the weekend and club chairman Chris Daly has confirmed that he'll be hanging up his boots with immediate effect as he's emigrating to England with his family.
