Munster Council is expecting a capacity 44,500 crowd at the Gaelic Grounds for Saturday's All-Ireland semi-final replay.

Provincial chief executive Simon Moroney admits that the six-day turnaround is far from ideal but still anticipates a sell-out attendance for the novel meeting of Munster champions Kerry and Connacht champions Mayo.

"The six-day turnaround is challenging," he concedes in The Irish Examiner. "We began meetings on Monday morning, looking at the logistics which need to be put in place, the staff and personnel, the traffic plans, and so on.

"Normally you would have two weeks to plan for a game like this but this is the hand we have been dealt and now we are getting on with it.

"We are trying to work out the attendance for the replay - you have a number of factors to take into account - the fact that it is on Saturday, the weather forecast. But we are working on the basis of it being a sell-out.

"Croke Park will oversee the distribution of tickets but the advice we would give is for fans to pre-purchase tickets as it saves time on the day of the game as people don't have to join queues.

"There will be reserved seating in the stand and that accounts for about 21,000 seats.

"For those heading to watch the game on the terraces, a lot of those would make their mind up on the day based on the weather."
