The Kerry subs' bench for Sunday's All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Mayo is one of the most 'decorated' in the history of the game.

Kilkenny had 37 All-Ireland medals among their substitutes for their recent All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Limerick, and Kerry aren't far behind with 20 All-Ireland medals among their reserves.

If manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice finds himself in a spot of bother at any stage on Sunday, he will also be able to call on four All Stars as well as a former Footballer of the Year and a former Young Footballer of the Year.

Declan O'Sullivan and Bryan Sheehan each have four Celtic Crosses in their possession, while Kieran Donaghy, Killian Young, Darran O'Sullivan and Kieran O'Leary have three each. In addition, Donaghy was Footballer in the Year in 2006, while Young was Young Footballer of the Year in 2007.

Seven All Stars were garnered by Declan O'Sullivan (2007, '08 and '09), Donaghy (2006 and '08), Sheehan (2011) and Darran O'Sullivan (2011).

The Kerry subs still awaiting their first All-Ireland medals are Brendan Kealy, Barry John Keane, Jonathan Lyne, Mark Griffin and Pa Kilkenny.
We suspect they won't have to wait too long!
