The Carlow County Board are to host an open forum to discuss the future of football after the process to find a new senior manager was put on hold.

A committee was initially formed to find a replacement for Anthony Rainbow who stepped down from the position earlier this month, but their search has been halted until after the forum.

The county board has decided to seek the opinion of football folk in the county at the open forum which will be held on Monday next, August 25th at 7.30pm.

Former Offaly senior football manager Paul Kelly will chair the meeting, having had previous experience in this environment and anyone with an interest in Carlow football is invited to attend.

Speaking to the Carlow Nationalist, County Board PRO Tommy Murphy said: "If there are people out there who feel they have something to say, they are more than welcome to attend. They do not necessarily have to be a member of a club."
