Henry: goals were the difference

Kilkenny's Henry Shefflin
Henry Shefflin felt the timing of Kilkenny's two goals were crucial to the outcome of today's All-Ireland SHC semi-final.

Limerick had the Leinster champions on the ropes when Richie Hogan netted late in the first half, and again when Eoin Larkin grabbed their second inside the last quarter.

"The weather conditions made it very difficult for everyone involved, so I think it was testament to the two teams that they served up such a spectacle," a relieved Shefflin - who is now just 70 minutes away from winning a record 10th All-Ireland medal - told Sky Sports.

"We knew Limerick were going to put it up to us. I suppose the goals were the difference between the two teams. We got them at the right moments.

"We were struggling in the first half - we got a goal just before half-time. In the second half, Limerick were coming back at us and we got another goal.

"So that was the difference between the two teams and we're delighted to be in the final in a few weeks' time."
