Up-and-coming Tipperary football star Colin O'Riordan harbours ambitions to play both codes at senior level.

A dual All-Ireland minor medal winner, the 18-year-old revealed to the Irish Independent: "I never really had a problem with managing the dual thing.

"Every manager I have been involved with has had an understanding and knew what to expect from the players. They allow you to do what you feel is right.

"Once there is reasonable communication there is no reason that you can't do it. It's something that is disappearing, but I'd love to give it a go. Time will tell, I suppose."

Of more immediate concern to the half-back, however, is Saturday's All-Ireland SFC qualifier clash against Galway in Tullamore.

"We know the success they've had at underage. Neutrals will see it as a bit of a shootout, but we know we've a lot to work on from the last day.

"We conceded four goals and that's not good enough. Hopefully, we can address those things and we'll be on the right end of the result."
