Second cousins Lester and Liam Ryan could meet in this year's All-Ireland SHC if Wexford can continue their winning ways.

A Kilkenny-Wexford All-Ireland semi-final on August 10 will materialise if Liam Dunne's men can beat Waterford this weekend in Nowlan Park and Limerick in the All-Ireland quarter-final at Semple Stadium a week later.

And that would pave the way for Kilkenny captain Lester Ryan and Wexford corner back Liam Ryan to meet on the field of play.

"He must be living in the gym, he's gotten fierce big!" Lester Ryan joked at yesterday's launch of the All-Ireland series beside the Cliffs of Moher.

"Last year or the year before he was a minor and now he looks older than me. He's making great ground, a brilliant player."

Explaining how he is related to Liam, Lester said: "His grandfather hurled for Wexford and moved down from Kilkenny, so his grandfather would be my grand-uncle."
