He hasn't gone away, you know.

Written off by the critics after a below-par display in the Allianz League final against Tipperary and unable to start any of Kilkenny's championship games to date because of a stress fracture of the foot he suffered in training, Henry Shefflin scored three excellent points from play in a late cameo appearance against Dublin in today's Leinster SHC final.

The nine-time All-Ireland winner is thought to be nearing full fitness again and will, no doubt, be pushing for a starting place when the Cats return to Croke Park for yet another All-Ireland semi-final in August.

Injured Kerry football star Colm Cooper was sufficiently impressed with the 35-year-old to tweet: "That new Shefflin fella is playing decent for kilkenny #stillhasit"
