Sean Cavanagh says facing Armagh or Monaghan in the second round of the Qualifiers will be "a massive test" for Tyrone.

The Red Hands drew the short straw in yesterday morning's Qualifier draw and will either host the Orchard County or travel to Clones to face their Ulster championship conquerors Monaghan on Saturday or Sunday week.

"That was one of the harder games we could have got when we were looking at it before the draw was made," the Former Footballer of the Year notes in The Irish News.

"There were a couple of big hitters in the draw and Monaghan and Armagh were definitely up there in terms of difficulty.

"That's the beauty of the draw, though. We can play anyone and this was going to be a massive test for us regardless of who we got, but we are looking forward to the challenge.

"People often talk about the hard side of the draw and we might have that this year in fairness, but the reality is you have to win all your games of you want to do well and go far in the All-Ireland.

"It doesn't matter whether you play Monaghan or Armagh now or if you meet them further down the line. Getting them now just means that we have to take them out now."
