Donegal's Odhran MacNiallais hopes to be handed a starting jersey for the Ulster SFC final.

The Gweedore clubman has started every game Donegal have played this year and slotted over four points from midfield during Sunday's semi-final win over Antrim.

The 21-year-old says it would be a dream come through to start the provincial decider against either Monaghan or Armagh next month:

"I suppose we had the same team for the last two or three years but that team was massively successful winning two Ulsters and an All-Ireland, so of course it's hard to break into it and establish yourself," he tells The Irish Daily Mirror.

"Jim [McGuinness] gave me a chance very early in the year. I think I played in all the McKenna Cup and league games so I'm thankful for the chance and I hope I've taken it.

"Hopefully I can keep my place in the team and get a wee run out in an Ulster final because that is what dreams are made of. It's what you dream of as a young fella growing up - playing for Donegal in Clones in an Ulster final."
