Brian McIver gave little away when asked about his future as Derry manager following today's shock two-point reversal at the hands of Longford in the All-Ireland SFC qualifier at Celtic Park.
"It's very disappointing," he said to BBC Sport after the final whistle. "To be fair Longford probably played like the Division One side. We didn't perform as we needed to perform.
"We were very porous, there's no doubt about that. We gave away far too many scores. We tried to correct that and we thought we had worked our way well back into the game, Mark Lynch scored the goal, then they got the break.
"To be fair Longford missed very little on the day."
When asked to assess the performance of referee Martin Higgins McIver replied: "no comment".
He also kept his cards close to his chest when the subject of whether or not he will be staying on as Oak Leaf boss was raised.
"This is the wrong time to be talking about what's going to happen next year.
"We're just gutted at the way it turned out for us out there."
