Mullane sticking with Tipp

John Mullane still thinks Tipperary are going to win the national hurling league title.

The Premier County scored an impressive semi-final victory over All-Ireland champions Clare in the Gaelic Grounds yesterday to set up a mouth-watering May 4th final meeting with holders Kilkenny in Semple Stadium:

"I tipped Tipperary before the league. I'm going to stick with them and the fact that the final is in Thurles is an advantage for them," the former Waterford talisman told RTE.

"If you look at the way the supporters celebrated the win over Kilkenny, you get a sense that they are behind the team and the management. That certainly will be the case in the final. I fancy Tipperary to beat Kilkenny.

"I thought Kilkenny were up and down during the course of the 70 minutes [of their semi-final win over Galway]. They were a bit lethargic at times, but when they had to push the button to find that extra gear they did it and got over the line comfortably in the end."
