Inspirational half-back Sean Leo McGoldrick has emerged as an injury concern for Derry ahead of the FL Division 1 decider against Dublin.

A knee injury brought McGoldrick's participation in a club match last night to a premature end and Oak Leaf County supporters are sweating over his fitness.

The league clash involving McGoldrick's Eoghan Rua and Ballinderry was only six minutes old when the player picked up the injury and the Coleraine club's secretary Kevin Mullan told the Irish News that the extent of the injury was not yet known.

"Hopefully it is just a knock. He was just being tackled and seemed to twist to get away, there was nothing in it. [But] He felt a sharp pain.

"We'd hope it wasn't as bad as it seemed at the time, but we just don't know yet." Tweet
