Tipperary has confirmed they were fined €500 when senior hurlers were unavailable for mandatory drugs tests last year.

Speaking to Tipp FM, secretary Tim Floyd admitted the buck stops with him for not informing the Irish Sports Council of a change to the Premier County's training schedule in March 2013.

"I'd probably have to put my hand up - it was probably my fault last year I didn't notify them.

"But maybe I didn't know either that they would have called off training on a particular night and I think that was the night the Sports Council happened to arrive down to do a test.

"The €500 fine covers their costs in coming down from Dublin to do the test."
