Gaelic Football Tournament in Paris

April 11, 2014

The tournament is part of the French Federal championship.
The Paris Gaels GAA club is looking forward to welcoming ladies and mens football teams for a tournament on Saturday April 12th. The tournament is part of the French Federal championship (which includes all of France except for the Brittany). Matches will be played on the ASPTT grounds in Pantin. It is a key event for the club and a unique occasion to promote Gaelic Sports to people from Paris and the surrounding area.

The Paris Gaels ladies are looking to defend their French championship title this season, against the teams from Lyon, Bordeaux and Rennes.

For the men, this will be the second tournament of the season, after a successful debut in March in Coutances (Normandy), where the two Paris Gaels teams took first and second places. The men's trophy will be decided between Lyon, Lille, Coutances, Naives and two Paris Gaels teams. The dinner and awards ceremony will take place at 8pm in the O'Sullivans by the Mill pub (Metro station Blanche). O'Sullivans is also the official sponsor of the Paris Gaels GAA club. Rory Montgomery, Irish Ambassador to France will be present for the ceremony.

The Paris Gaels GAA club invites all Parisians to come out and support our teams during the weekend and learn about the fast growing gaelic sports. Apart from the football teams the club also has a Hurling and a Camogie team, both of which will start their season in the Hague on April 26. All other tournaments of the season will be played outside of the capital or abroad. Don't miss the chance in Paris!

Tournament on Saturday April 12 from 9am to 6pm
