Composure pleases Gavin

Jim Gavin praised Dublin's composure after they got themselves out of a tricky situation against Tyrone.

The All-Ireland champions looked to be heading out of the Allianz League until Diarmuid Connolly popped up with a brilliant injury-time winner in Omagh. The one-point victory means Dublin can now look forward to a semi-final date with Cork next Sunday.

"Yeah, it is a great trait that this team has," the Dublin manager enthused.

"They have great mental strength and to come to somewhere like Healy Park for them to work a solution with the game in the balance is very satisfying. We place a lot of emphasis in the sessions in having guys coming up with a solution. To create that chance against a defence as formidable as Tyrone was great. But, technically, Diarmuid Connolly executed the shot very well and we were just happy it went over.

"But I think the Tyrone management team and ourselves will be very happy with a work out like that with the championship just around the corner. And I think Tyrone will figure heavily in the Ulster championship and, indeed, the All-Ireland championship."
