Boyle setback for Kerry

Kerry's Mikey Boyle
Kerry hurlers must plan without experienced forward Mikey Boyle for Sunday's NHL Division 2A final against Carlow.

In a mix up over the fixture, Boyle was due to fly to the U.S on holidays yesterday (Wednesday), but when Kerry reached the league final, he switched his flights to Sunday, thinking the decider was to be played on Saturday as was indicated on the GAA's official website.

However, the game will be played at Semple Stadium on Sunday even though the Kerry County Board sought to have the match played on Saturday, but Carlow wouldn't agree to a switch.

And Boyle will now fly out to the States on Sunday leaving Kerry minus the services of one of their most experienced players.

"It's very disappointing for Mikey," said Kerry manager Eamon Kelly to the Kerryman. "We just have to put it to the back of our minds and focus on the game."
