With two games to go, Tony Kernan and his Armagh team-mates haven't given up hope of securing promotion to Division One but they are also looking nervously over their shoulder.

The Orchard County travel to Galway this Sunday looking to bounce back from their round 5 loss to neighbours Monaghan.

"We have two more matches to play, this game against Galway and Donegal at home, and we are in a position where we could be said to be chasing promotion while at the same time not absolutely safe in terms of our Division Two status," the Crossmaglen ace said to the Belfast Telegraph.

"I think that this is a fair reflection of just how tight things are in Division Two where you have some really good teams like Donegal, Monaghan and Down all of whom are currently pushing for promotion.

"Monaghan are the Ulster champions and that was a massive game for us that we were disappointed to lose.

"Now, having already won those back to back games against Laois and Meath, we must try and repeat that feat against Galway and Donegal.

"This is a big ask but it's a challenge that we must face up to nevertheless. If you want to be the best you have to test yourself against the best.

"Donegal in particular have been going well even though they lost to Down so we will have our work cut out for us over the next couple of weeks."
