Former Hull City striker Dean Windass signs for Hugh O'Neill GAA club in Leeds
Former Premier League striker Dean Windass will line out for Hugh O'Neill's GAA club in Leeds this season.
A genuine Hull City legend, having scored the spectacular goal at Wembley that propelled his hometown club into the Premier League in 2008, Windass netted over 200 career goals in the colours of Hull, Bradford City Aberdeen, Oxford United, Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, and Oldham Athletic.
He represented both Hull and Bradford City in the Premier League.
The 44-year-old former professional sportsman admits he has never played gaelic football before but hopes his eye for goal will prove useful to the O'Neill's this year:
"I have never played Gaelic football before but hopefully I can pick up the skills soon and hit the onion bag as many times as I have done with previous clubs," he comments.
Age has never been an obstacle to Windass in the past. He scored his last Premier League goal at the age of 39, in the process becoming Hull's oldest-ever scorer.
