The Swans fly together

Carrick Swans have twinned with Swansea FC.
The famous Tipperary GAA club Carrick Swan has been twinned with Premier League outfit Swansea City FC.

The alliance between the Carrick-on-Suir-based club and the South Welsh club arose mainly because both are known as 'the Swans'. Almost 100 members of the Carrick Swan club attend Swansea City's 2-1 Premier League defeat to West Brom on Saturday as part of fostering relations between the two outfits.

The South Tipperary club made a presentation of a specially inscribed hurley and sliotar to Swansea officials at the Liberty Stadium as part of the novel twinning exercise. The trip came about after the club wrote a letter to Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins early last year.
