Rathvilly GAA club are the first club in County Carlow to promote the ASAP programme on our club jerseys, which were worn by our Senior team in the 2013 County Football Final. The sponsors of the jerseys, Mr. Jim Bolger and Mr. Martin Molloy were delighted to support the club in promoting the important message of the programme.

The ASAP programme was created and co-ordinated, in Croke Park by GAA Community and Health Section and in Partnership with HSE, to minimise the harm caused by the misuse of alcohol and other substances in sporting environment.

The three main areas of the policy to help GAA clubs are Education, Prevention and Response to drug and alcohol related matters.
The overall aim of the ASAP Programme is to promote a positive health environment for all members through participation in their GAA club. The policy applies to the whole club which includes club coaches, players, members, parents/guardians and users of club property.
