HS Hurling Team of the Week
April 22, 2013

Westmeath, Roscommon and Kerry join Meath in the semi-finals.
We pick our best XV from yesterday's Allianz Hurling League semi-final action.
1. Colm Callanan (Galway)The Tribesmen's margin of defeat to Kilkenny would have been much greater but for two outstanding saves Callanan pulled off to deny Richie Power.
2. Paul Murphy (Kilkenny)The returning soldier looked like he had never been away after an excellent display against Galway.
3. JJ Delaney (Kilkenny)The Fenians full back was the rock upon which several Galway attacks perished. He twice prevented goals, first saving a 20-metre Joe Canning free and then using his posterior to block Cyril Donnellan's shot.
4. Paddy Stapleton (Tipperary)Looked very assured in the corner as Tipp steamrolled Dublin to reach the league decider.
5. Tommy Walsh (Kilkenny)The Kilkenny defensive old guard of JJ Delaney, Jackie Tyrrell, Brian Hogan and the imperious Walsh were at their brilliant best as the threat of Joe Canning and co. was sniffed out.
6. Padraic Maher (Tipperary)Although he wore the number three jersey, the Thurles Sarsfields clubman was immense at centre back.
7. Shane Durkin (Dublin)May have had his hands full with Jason Forde, but Durkin never stopped trying and was Dublin's second highest scorer from play with two points.
8. Lester Ryan (Kilkenny)Enhanced his growing reputation with a man of the match display against Galway. Ryan and midfielder partner Michael Rice scored 0-5 between them as well as ensuring a plentiful supply of ball to the Kilkenny attack.
9. Noel McGrath (Tipperary)The former Young Hurler of the Year ran the show from midfield, helping himself to 0-3 in the process.
10. Cyril Donnellan (Galway)On a day when Joe Canning was well held by the Kilkenny defence, Donnellan was Galway's main attacking threat and finished the game with 1-3 to his credit.
11. Eoin Larkin (Kilkenny)While Lar Corbett and Patrick 'Bonnar' Maher were very influential for Tipp, it's difficult to overlook Larkin, who put over frees from all angles as the Cats recovered from a sluggish start to overpower Galway.
12. Danny Sutcliffe (Dublin)One of the few positives for Dublin was the performance of Sutcliffe, who shot 0-4 from play.
13. Richie Hogan (Kilkenny)The league's outstanding performer tormented the Galway defence with his work-rate and scoring (0-5 from play). His three points just after half-time knocked the stuffing out of Anthony Cunningham's side.
14. Seamus Callanan (Tipperary)The Drom & Inch attacker continued his excellent form with 1-7 (0-3 from play) in the Premier County's demolition of Dublin.
15. Jason Forde (Tipperary)No Eoin Kelly or John O'Brien in their attack, but Tipp needn't have worried as young Forde stepped up to the plate with 0-4 (including a sideline) to earn himself the TG4 Man of the Match award.
