Davy Fitzgerald claims Cork are the form team going into Sunday's Allianz Hurling League relegation playoff at the Gaelic Grounds.

Clare registered an impressive victory over the Rebels in Pairc Ui Rinn a few weeks ago, but are coming off the back of a heavy defeat suffered at the hands of Tipperary two weeks ago.

"It's a championship game and the momentum is with Cork," the Banner boss told the Clare Champion.

"We beat them well a few weeks back and they will come with all guns blazing on Sunday, raging for revenge. They showed against Galway and Kilkenny that they are a decent team.

"It's a 50-50 game. Of course we would prefer to win, but no matter what happens, we have shown we are able to compete. In certain eyes, it might be a blow if we are beaten on Sunday but this is a young team.

"Remember, with a bit of luck we could be preparing for the semi-finals. We would prefer to stay in the division, but I am confident that this bunch will do well over the next two-to-three years."
