Corbett returns as Canning sits out challenge
06 June 2012
Lar Corbett made his first appearance of the year for Tipperary in a SH challenge against Galway last night.
The 2010 Hurler of the Year, who recently returned to the Premier fold after a two-and-a-half month exile, lined out at centre forward as Tipp succumbed to a 0-21 to 3-16 defeat at Semple Stadium.
Joe Canning, who missed Galway's Leinster SHC quarter-final victory over Westmeath in Mullingar last Sunday because of a shoulder injury, sat out the game, but afterwards Tribe boss Anthony Cunningham expressed the hope that both he and defender David Collins would be fit for the Leinster SHC semi-final against Offaly in two weeks' time.
