St Thomas manager Kevin Lally believes that his charges work rate got them through last Sunday’s county SHC final.
Back to back titles have now been secured by the Peterswell outfit as they put in a huge effort in the second half to claim the win over Liam Mellows.
Lally told the Connacht Tribune that he was confident the players would lift it in the second half as their fitness levels kicked in.
“We knew that we had the legs and, I suppose, thankfully that is the way it transpired. Also, our workrate had been poor in the first half, but we turned that around massively in the second half, and that was probably the cornerstone of the victory,” said Lally.
St Thomas can now look forward to a break before they start planning for an All-Ireland club SHC semi-final.
