Kilkenny’s Evan Shefflin is hoping their experience can get them over the line against Wexford in tonight’s Leinster U20 HC final.

Henry Shefflin’s nephew and his team-mates are aiming to prevent the Model County from completing the clean sweep of provincial titles.

“We know that they are going to bring a huge crowd and they are going to do what the seniors do - make the middle third a war zone,” he pointed out to the Irish Independent.

“They would be feeding off the (success of the Wexford) seniors but they wouldn't have the experience we like to think we have.”

Legend DJ Carey will be patrolling the sideline for the Cats and the Ballyhale Shamrocks All-Ireland club winner is a big fan of the five-time All-Ireland SHC medalist’s coaching style.

“He's a very insightful man.

“Whenever we are at training he just throws the ball in and lets us hurl away and if he stops it, it's because we're not doing what he wants us to be doing.”
