Mayo have suffered yet another injury blow ahead of Sunday's Super 8s opener against Kerry with the news that Patrick Durcan has been ruled out with a leg injury.

The Connaught Telegraph is reporting that the Castlebar Mitchels defender has failed to recover from the injury he sustained in last Saturday's All-Ireland SFC Qualifier Round 4 win over Galway. Durcan now joins captain Diarmuid O'Connor and Matthew Ruane on the injured list.

The Telegraph also reports that Durcan will be indirectly replaced by his Castlebar club-mate Donal Vaughan, who came off the bench against Galway, with Stephen Coen switching to the half back line and Vaughan partnering Aidan O'Shea at midfield.
