Cork full-forward Shane O’Regan conjured a breath-taking point during last night’s Munster U20HC semi-final victory over Clare.
With ten minutes left at Pairc Ui Rinn, and Denis Ring’s charges ahead by 0-18 to 0-12, having finally crushed the Banner County’s brave resistance, Rebels full back James Keating cleared the sliothar upfield.
Roaming No.14 O’Regan soared high into the stratosphere above his man to execute an astonishing one-handed catch and then hammered it between the uprights from 40 yards on the run.
Direct hurling at its very best. The Leesiders registered a series of superb scores last night as they advanced to a provincial final meeting with Tipperary but this one was the best of the lot and will be difficult to better at any level in 2019.
