A two-month ban has been proposed for Darren Hughes arising from an incident which took place during Monaghan's All-Ireland SF Round 1 qualifier win over Fermanagh last Sunday.

The Scotstown clubman, who is currently recovering from a broken ankle sustained in April, was acting as the team's water carrier when he became embroiled in an altercation at the end of the game. James McMahon and Paul McCusker were both red-carded following the incident, which meant Fermanagh finished the game with just 12 players after Lee Cullen was sent off earlier.

Hughes is expected to appeal the ban which was issued by the CCCC.
