Former Donegal defender Eamon McGee is “quietly confident” about their chances of advancing to the Anglo Celt Cup decider at Tyrone’s expense.

The Tir Chonaill outfit got the better of Fermanagh last Sunday and will renew acquaintances with the Red Hand County in the semi-final which is scheduled for Kingspan Breffni Park on Saturday week.

The Ghaoth Dobhair clubman thinks Declan Bonner’s men will possess too much firepower for last year’s defeated All-Ireland finalists.

"You look at Tyrone, Tyrone are shipping goals and we have Paddy McBrearty and Jamie Brennan, boys that can get at you and hit the back of the net,” he outlined to Sky Sports at the launch of the Bord Gais Energy GAA Legends Tour Series at Croke Park.

“Michael [Murphy] coming down the middle, Dara Ó Baoill, Sunday was another game in him.

“So, I am very, very confident about the Tyrone game. Any time I go out and be confident, backing Donegal to beat Tyrone, the Tyrone 'Twitterati' like to remind me that I got it wrong.

“So I am quietly confident.”
