A hurt Offaly side will come to Cusack Park, Mullingar on Saturday afternoon, according to Westmeath selector Johnny Greville.

The Faithful County came out on the wrong side of an epic encounter against Laois last weekend as they adapt to life in the Joe McDonagh Cup.

Speaking to the Westmeath Independent, Greville was in no doubt that Offaly will come all guns blazing to Mullingar on Saturday.

“Offaly are going to be hurting. They got a lot of negative press during the league. They had a lot of issues going on within the camp, and that generally only brings lads together,” said Greville.

The Raharney clubman admits that they are in for a tough test, but added the Westmeath players are really up for this game.

“We’ll have a full hand to pick from hopefully. But it’ll be a mammoth task, a huge ask. There will be fire and brimstone all over the pitch on Saturday.

“We’re taking it one game at a time and we’ll see how it goes. Nearly every game in this will be like a final.”
