Sligo manager Paul Taylor is hoping that they can perform a giant killing act against Galway on Sunday.

The sides meet in the Connacht SFC semi-final and the defending champions are overwhelming favourites to advance to the decider.

Taylor will have taken heart from Limerick’s display against Tipperary last weekend which saw the Shannonsiders defeat the 1/9 favourites.

And the former player buys into the mantra that championship football throws up a surprise or two.

“We are going to be up against it but with championship football anything can happen on any given day. The lads are looking forward to it and we are playing a great side going for two in a row,” Taylor told the Sligo Champion.

“We are under no illusion, but we will go out and give it our best shot.” He added: “The lads in fairness to them have been working very, very hard and training very well and I’m happy with the preparations.”
