Monaleen and Ballybrown enjoyed wins as the Limerick SHC got underway last night.

Ger Collins’ late goal was key as Monaleen got the better of Ahane by 1-17 to 0-17 in Group 2.

The winners overturned a 0-6 to 0-10 half-time deficit.

Ballybrown, meanwhile, finished with 13 points to spare over Knockainey, 1-23 to 0-13.

Ross Griffin raised their green flag as they eased to a convincing victory.
