The €250,000 fundraising target for former Cork senior footballer Kieran O'Connor has been exceeded.
The GAA community has rallied in support of the Aghada clubman - who is battling Ewing's Sarcoma cancer - following an emotional plea by his former team-mate Graham Canty in the Irish Examiner last week.
The goal was to raise €250,000 to support the 39-year-old and his family with current living and future medical expenses including possible travel abroad for additional medical expertise
At the time of writing, €272,643 has been raised thanks to the generosity of the GAA public.
