Cian O'Neill will be picking from a depleted squad for Kildare's Allianz League Division 2 opener against Armagh on Sunday.

Eight players who featured in last summer's final Super 8s clash with Kerry are unavailable. Mick O'Grady and Neil Flynn are suspended after being sent off in that game, Daniel Flynn and Johnny Byrne have opted out this year, Eamonn Callaghan has retired, Niall Kelly is gone travelling, while Kevin Flynn and Paddy Brophy are both on the injured list at present.

On the plus side, Peter Kelly, Mark Sherry and Chris Healy are expected to be available following Two Mile House's All-Ireland club IFC semi-final loss to Kilcummin yesterday.

Meanwhile, Padraig Fogarty - who returned to the panel before Christmas after a three-year injury-enforced absence and posted 0-5 for NUI Maynooth in their narrow Sigerson Cup victory over Queen's University yesterday - has been released from the panel along with midfielder Paschal Connell.
