Scotstown "raging hot favourites" - Mac Niallais

Crossmaglen's Stephen Morris looks to close in on Odhran Mac Niallais of Gweedore

Odhrán Mac Niallais says Scotstown will be favourites to get the better of Gaoth Dobhair in next month’s Ulster Club SFC final.

The Donegal champions stunned Crossmaglen on Sunday to qualify for the Seamus McFerran Cup decider, but their midfield ace Mac Niallais insists they’ll go into that showdown in Omagh as underdogs:

“We heard just before we went out that Rory Beggan kicked a winner for them,” he is quoted in The Irish News. “They’ll be raging hot favourites because they’ve been there the last few years and they were in the final a couple of years ago. They are a top class team with some top class players – you have Beggan, the Hughes brothers, Conor McCarthy…

“They have serious talent in that team and it’s going to be a massive challenge for us but we’ll not be going out to get beat. Definitely not. We’ll get back out training on Tuesday night, put down a plan and be ready for it.”
