In a bid not to see the disgraceful scenes that marred last Sunday’s Kerry SFC semi-final replay, the Kingdom have drafted in extra stewards.

However, there will be no reduction in those permitted along the sideline following last Sunday’s brawl that saw players and mentors from both Dingle and East Kerry get involved in a mass melee.

Suspensions have been handed out following that with Dingle mentor Colm Geaney picking up an eight-week ban for striking an East Kerry player.

The scenes in Tralee were shown on social media all over the country and has become a source of embarrassment for the Kerry County Board.

The Kerryman has revealed that extra stewards will patrol the sidelines for this Sunday’s final between Dr Crokes and Dingle at Austin Stack Park, and they will be operating close to the dugouts to try and curb any potential fall out between the teams.
