Galway's Joe Canning believes that their two titanic clashes against Clare will be the best preparation for the All-Ireland SHC final.

The defending All-Ireland champions booked their place in the final, where they will face Limerick in the decider, having come through two epic clashes against the Banner.

Galway were pushed all the way in both games and can consider themselves lucky to eventually see off the challenge of Clare in the replay, where the Munster side hit 19 wides.

Canning is confident that they can learn a lot from the semi-final and replay as they prepare to take on the Shannonsiders.

"Those two matches over the last two weekends are probably as good as ten training sessions," Canning told the Connacht Tribune.

"Our numbers 16 to 34 need to get a bit of game time now and they will push us hard, as they are the bedrock of our performances. We have always said that they are the guys that prepare us for games like that.

"It's another game, it's an All-Ireland final, two teams going at it, that's all it is, it's nothing extra and we are not going to treat it any differently.

"It's going to be tough, no All-Ireland is going to be won easy. I am sure Limerick are going to be the same come two weeks."
