Laos forward Niall Donoher admits that he owes a lot to manager John Sugrue.

Speaking to the Leinster Express ahead of Sunday's Leinster SFC final against Dublin, Donoher explained how Sugrue's appointment as manager has been met with nothing but positivity.

The Kerry native had been involved in the Laois squad in the past as he was in fact the physio during Justin McNulty's term as manager.

And Donoher revealed that he played a massive part in getting him back to full fitness following a serious injury.

"John himself was physio at that time, what he did for me went above and beyond what any physio would need to do, and only for him I wouldn't be in that position," said Donoher.

"He would have been someone, probably from the bit he did with Justin that we would have liked to see involved maybe at an earlier stage, now it's great, there wasn't one bad reaction to John's appointment.

"No one has walked away, everyone has come back and the younger lads have really bought into it, it's been a huge take up to it."
